The time has come for Jang Jae Yeol to face his inner demons head-on. As expected, the goodbye is heart-breaking. Kang Woo willingly goes, a sign that Jae Yeol is really ready to let go of his past.
It’s not easy coming to terms with your past and drawing to a close to something that is familiar to you. But a large part of Jae Yeol’s bravery in doing is because of his love for Hae Soo.
How cute is this scene? Soo Gwang has a mini attack and slaps himself for succumbing to it. So Nyeo berates him for hurting what is “hers”.
Everything’s a lot easier now. Hae Soo and Jae Yeol still see each other in the hospital, not speaking, but touching every chance they get.
Hae Soo has been showing a fondness for shirts with an elaborate collar as of late. Here is one sterling example.
Jae Yeol has been adapting well to the life in the hospital, turning himself into the pack leader, according to Hae Soo.
But there is still one kink in Hae Soo’s life: her family and their opposition to her relationship with Jae Yeol. She has been avoiding her mom like the plague so the mom took it upon herself to visit her in the hospital.
Go check out Hae Soo’s top! It has a cute brown collar and a pussybow detail – I assumed that thing suspended from the collar is to turn it into a pussybow but Hae Soo just lets the straps hang there. And of course, there’s the ubiquitous wide-legged jeans.
Her mom didn’t allow her to make a decision yet, as she’s already expecting Hae Soo to insist on being with Jae Yeol. She got a call from Jae Yeol and he told her he can make Hae Soo go on the trip. So the mom told her to talk to Jae Yeol first before she makes decisions.
Jae Yeol asked her to go on the trip. She shouldn’t terminate her life plans because of him. And while she’s there, she shouldn’t contact him. He wouldn’t answer anyway. But if she didn’t find another man while on her trip and she comes home, still in love with him, he’ll be waiting.
So Hae Soo finally decided to go – not without a heavy heart though.
There were no tearful goodbyes, as expected from the cool residents of the Hong Dae apartments. In true Soo Gwang action, he even asked Choi Ho to chauffer Hae Soo to the airport.
Hae Soo’s dressed in her usual sloppy-chic manner – a loose button down shirt haphazardly worn over a midi skirt. Perfect travel outfit.

Jae Yeol looking fine and back in his usual self. His mental illness has increased his popularity. I guess if you’re a writer, you really need that much enigma in your character to be controversial. The troubled ones do tend to leave a longer impression.
He was on his way to a radio show guesting. A group of fans was waiting for him, including a guy who is dressed like Kang Woo. For a minute there, I thought it’s really Kang Woo. But no, it’s real, breathing person.
Everyone is listening to Jae Yeol’s broadcast. The host asked him to do the closing remarks he used to do in his own radio program.
Hae Soo’s been all over the world, seeing sights. They also kept their promise to not contact each other. Even when Soo Gwang tempted Jae Yeol with a photo of Hae Soo in Mongolia, he did not take the bait.
Life’s also better at his home. Jae Yeol’s medication dosage has been reduced and he hasn’t seen Kang Woo in months – a progress. Jae Beom has also cleaned up his act. He looks better now that his white hair has grown dark.
Soo Gwang and So Nyeo are inseparable too. They do make quite a pair. Love Soo Gwang’s mandarin-collared shirt.
Everyone’s also been going to therapy sessions. Jae Beom needs work on his social skills after being imprisoned almost half his life, Jae Yeol still needs some work for his illness, Soo Gwang’s and Jae Yeol’s parents also attend a session for parents with children dealing with mental issues.
The Hong Dae apartment is also a favorite hangout amongst friends.
Hae Soo visits Osaka again – the place where she went with Jae Yeol.

And she’s back! After a year, Hae Soo arrived at the Hong Dae apartment, yelling surprise! She didn’t get the warm welcome she was expecting though. Dong Min and Soo Gwang barely acknowledged her presence, so caught up were they with their board game. Lol. Even Jae Yeol didn’t look ecstatic to see her. Haha! This scene is sooo them!
Hae Soo seemed to have abandoned style in favor of comfort in this scene though as she’s merely in a printed shirt and a pair of jeans.
When they’re alone though, Jae Yeol gives her a passionate kiss…
..which was interrupted by these two, who barged in carrying a placard welcoming Hae Soo home and that Jae Yeol was waiting for her. The warm welcome was a tad late but definitely heartening.

A year later after Hae Soo’s arrival, we see her holding a pregnancy test stick with two red lines on it. Yep, pregnant. She wakes a sleeping Jae Yeol and berated him for not using protection when she insisted he should. Jae Yeol says nothing, picks up the stick and walks out.
Hae Soo followed him out, passing some photos of them in the room. We get to see that they are already married and that it was a happy union.
Jae Yeol proudly presented the stick to Dong Min and Soo Gwang. They congratulated him, not caring that Hae Soo is a bit mad. Lol.
Even Hae Soo’s mom is happy about the baby news.
There’s never a dull moment in this house. They got into an argument again and Jae Yeol had to stop them because there’s a pregnant person in the house who can’t afford to get upset. So they suggested to set things straight with a match the next day.
The match turned out to be a tomato-throwing game! Lol. Everyone’s in a white shirt and a pair of brown jeans.
Hae Soo’s white shirt is from Lucky Chouette but I can’t find it any more in their site.

Jae Yeol’s also back to work. He’s looking mighty fine in this polka-dotted mustard shirt.
I’m in love with this almost bib embroidered collar!
As you can see, even a year later, high-waisted, wide-legged jeans are still Hae Soo’s thing. They were out about, enjoying their time together when a group of girls recognized Jae Yeol and hastily boxed Hae Soo out of the way to get to Jae Yeol and have him sign an autograph. The leader of the pack, that girl in yellow, is none other than KARA’s Goo Ha Ra who was already previously rumoured to have a cameo role in this drama. Jae Yeol kindly turned them down and told them not to push his wife away because she’s pregnant.

And they lived happily every after! Well, if their previous personality clashes are anything to go by, that’s a stretch. Lol. But what an ending! It more than made up for all the heartaches.
