The Heirs Episode 19 Fashion Recap and Review:
Where were we? Ah, yes, the party. Kim Tan’s birthday bash is in full swing. What is he now? 19? Last episode, we saw Kim Tan and Cha Eun Sang arrive at the front steps of the party’s venue.
These two are still at it in pretending that they are together. I feel like the chairwoman didn’t have a hand in picking that grey dress. If it were up to her, she’d probably wear something a tad more colorful. And although her hairstyle is different, there is still the ever-present bow.
The support group, sans Young Do and Ye Sol, are also in attendance. As expected, all of them are dressed to the nines. Myung Soo is looking spiffy in that printed suit. This camwhoring moment was particularly funny, especially when the chairman was checking him out while doing so!
Lee Bo Na chose this gorgeous, too-short-for-Yoon-Chan-Young’s-peace-of-mind mini dress. I love this dress on her. She spotted a guy in the throng of invited guests and called him “oppa”. Chan Young went on and on about how he is going to break Bo Na’s legs for clinging on the arms of another guy when Bo Na introduced him as her older brother who was, until now, based in the states. A chagrined Chan Young only smiled uncomfortably. Hee, kyeopta.
Krystal’s dress is from Low Classic:
Hyo Shin looks great as usual but I feel like that attire is too casual for the occasion.
In come Cha Eun Sang and Kim Tan. The chairman was expectedly flabbergasted at this public claim of their relationship. He was also not particularly happy to see their hands clasped together.
Kim Tan should start wearing this hairstyle more often. It becomes of him!
I would have loved to see more of the party but Kim Tan decided to take it upstairs where his mom is celebrating all by her lonesome. Much to his mom’s surprise, he also took Cha Eun Sang with him. And how much do you love Kim Tan in white? This guy can really wear anything!
Kim Tan’s mom went with Eun Sang to meet the latter’s mom. The two hugs each other in excitement. Apparently, they care more about each other than they let on.
Kim Tan, who was left behind in the city, called Eun Sang to check up on her and his mom. Eun Sang was all armed for the countryside weather in a puffer jacket with brown elbow patches.
Kim Tan, on the other hand, fearlessly layers a long knitted cardigan over a jacket. I know this is unpopular opinion but I actually like how Kim Tan dresses here. Sure he makes the wrong sweater choices sometimes but you have to give him props for playing things up in the fashion department.
Kim Tan left behind to visit Young Do. In his way, Tan thanked Young Do for what the latter did for his mom. Young Do seems uncomfortable by Tan’s gratitude and tried to brush it off as inconsequential. Really, Young Do, you are a softie and everyone already knows it.

Young Do went to Myung Soo’s studio and saw the photos from Tan’s party. Myung Soo saw him checking out the photos and rushed to hide it from him so he wouldn’t see Eun Sang together with Kim Tan.
Myung Soo’s outfit is the craziest outfit I’ve seen in this drama. The play of prints courtesy of his shirt and pants are totally unexpected. Only Myung Soo can wear this look. The jacket somehow tied the look together. And there’s the Kdrama debut of the hat I’ve been seeing a lot as of late. The pom pom cap is becoming a thing in the F/W 2013 scene.
Sometimes, you just have to cry it all out and get it out of your system. It’s a nice scene for Kim Tan’s mom.
Suddenly this scene. Tan unexpectedly sees Eun Sang in the place where he is hanging out. It turned out that Kim Won called them both.
This outfit might be the brightest one I’ve seen Eun Sang in in a while. I love the pop of color, especially since this episode brimmed with dark, earthy hues.

There was a much-needed levity in this episode. After meeting with Kim Won, Kim Tan and Cha Eun Sang goes back to the countryside to meet Eun Sang’s mom. Kim Tan adorably asks for the mom’s permission to date Eun Sang. But the mom isn’t easily appeased.
Eung Sang and her mom decided to just live in the apartment they lived in before they lived at Kim Tan’s house. Tan was already there waiting for her when she arrived.
Kim Tan had a video presentation prepared for her. Didn’t know Kim Tan’s stalking abilities are very good.
I love the colors of Kim Tan’s ensemble. The yellow sweater underneath with the printed collar of his inner shirt complemented the navy color of his coat.

The tables have been turned on Rachel Yoo. After her mom’s broken engagement and her own broken engagement, everyone feels superior to her. That includes Ye Sol, whose status in life has conveniently been forgotten.
Young Do comes to her rescue. I like how these two have formed a bond although things didn’t work out well with their parents.
A close up of Rachel Yoo’s collar. How much do you love the scalloped detail and the embroidery of her collar?

The exam scores have been released and it’s time to see the rankings. Lee Bo Na approached Cha Eun Sang, saying she will blame her if Chan Young loses to Rachel in ranking.

Afraid that he will be last place again, Kim Tan tears off the post and runs away with it. Cha Eun Sang chases after him. Chan Young sent her a photographed copy of the test results and lo and behold, Kim Tan got 50th place! I knew you have brains somewhere there Kim Tan.
Cha Eun Sang’s ranking confuses me a little bit. In her old school, she was remarked to be a brilliant student. Why is she suddenly average in Jeguk High?

Choi Young Do beats his father for the first time. His father said he’ll grant him a wish. There’s only one thing Young Do wants right now: his mom. But the father said he doesn’t know her whereabouts as well.
He goes to this restaurant again. This time, the owner reads his school nameplate and gives him a calling card that a woman left for him.
Kim Tan intercepts Lee Bo Na to ask her opinion about what might be a perfect gift for Eun Sang. Lee Bo Na suggested a lot of things.
Bo Na is the queen of checkered print in this drama. Can’t blame her. I wouldn’t mind having this houndstooth-printed coat in my closet as well.
Krystal’s Coat is from:
The broadcasting club (which consists of Hyo Shin, Cha Eun Sang and Lee Bo Na) is having a meeting. They were talking about meeting up with the other school’s broadcasting club.
Hyo Shin keeps it casual in this hooded jacket.
Hyo Shin texted Chan Young that these two will meet up with two guys. In come Chan Young and Kim Tan to put an end to the date.
Tan scolded Cha Eun Sang on the way home. But after that, he gave her this wallet for a present.

This must be a special place for both of them since it’s not a place people like them are likely to frequent. But they met up all the same and talked.
Kim Tan’s mom had some serious Lee Bo Na vibe going on here.
Tan, on the other hand, dressed up simply in a knitted cardigan and a white shirt underneath.
Just when everything’s going well, disaster strikes. The chairman collapsed and was taken to the hospital. He suffered a brain damage that would require operation.
All this time, I was wondering who the real villain in this drama is. I guess the chairwoman rose up to that role. Now that the chairman is incapacitated, the power to rule over Jeguk group lands on her. Her brother egged her on.
On the fashion side, she still looks as stylish as ever. The intentionally oversized coat is a great way to add more volume where it is needed. It worked perfect with the turtleneck top.
My heart aches for Young Do. His dad is going to jail for his tax case and things aren’t looking up for the Hotel.
I just love the clean silhouette of YD’s attire. The white collar peaking out from a black or a grey sweater never fails to create a striking appeal. It’s also quite versatile and one you can wear if you are a girl.
After rounding up her allies, the chairwoman went to visit the chairman. She had a biting talk with Kim Tan, telling him he might come to regret the decisions he has made in his life so far.
Is this the hotel? Kim Tan suddenly meets Young Do here. Both are lost in thought, both sharing a defeated emotion.
Young Do managed to look cute while being sentimental. He wore this leather jacket over a knitted sweater.
