Fated to Love You Episode 5 Review
Lee Gun just realized he was duped by the soap factory President and his cohort. He thinks Kim Mi Young is in on it too so he spent a sleepless night stewing about it.
Meanwhile, Kim Mi Young finally arrives at Lee Gun’s residence and was greeted by a disdainful stepmother, who thought she’s the new maid, and an ecstatic grandmother, who brushed past the stepmother. Lol.
Stepmom and son inspecting the new sammonim and their luxe room, that looks like it can be a house in its own. Lee Young is so preppy, as always, in his printed Bermuda shorts and button down top. Stepmom looks like a walking tangerine in a dress I can’t explain. It has tulle peeking it from under the orange silk and even has a side ribbon.
Get Kim Mi Young’s watch:
Beka & Bell Watch, 119, 700 Won
Kim Mi Young’s earrings are from Pilgrim and her bag is from Fossil.
Lee Gun walks in on the scene above. In true Korean fashion, his normally staid suit is pimped (I hate using this word) out with a gingham button down top (you know how I feel about gingham, right?) and what looks like a scarf turned into a necktie.
As expected, he treats Kim Mi Young with frostiness enough to compete with Antarctica. Also, matching pajamas! What couple tees? Couple pajamas is the trend now, you guys!
There’s this scene when Mi Young sneaked into the kitchen to eat bibimbap, with the lights off, and Lee Gun walked in, hearing unusual sounds and nearly died of a heart attack when he saw Mi Young lying on the floor, clutching a bowl of bibimbap, pale face and all. Lol.
Stepmom and Lee Young meet up with one of the clan’s elders and badmouth the newly-wed couple. Stepmom lets it slip that their relationship could be a farce in order to keep hierarchy in Lee Gun’s camp.
These two are so interesting to look at. Not only is the stepmom, who is Cheon Song Yi’s mom, by the way, ridiculously stylish, her son is also quite the fashion maven. Just look at that floral blazer! Last time I’ve seen a guy wear a floral blazer was…erm…let me get back to you on that.
Kim Mi Young finally quits her job. Ji Yeon chastised her for not telling her about her wedding and Mi Young said it was a rushed thing. Finally, no sticky note girl. I like the intention of the sweet-looking top and the midi skirt but the tandem tends to look frumpy on Mi Young. It’s her petite stature, you see, that makes the clothes look like they’re wearing her instead of the other way around.
Get Kim Mi Young’s top:
Thyren Collared Top, 81,880 Won
Get Kim Mi Young’s skirt:
Keith Floral Skirt, 350,550 Won
Get Kim Mi Young’s Bag:
Jinammi Saenul Tote, 496,010 Won
Mi Young’s sandals are from Shoespa.
What do you know? D. Pitt is in the neighbourhood? He’s putting up a café in the area and chanced upon Mi Young. She accidentally dropped the documents Lee Gun asked her to pick up after Daniel’s dog startled her. Daniel picked it up, opened it and saw that those are divorce papers. He wonders out loud if Mi Young’s husband is treating her well.
However Lee Gun is treating her at the moment, his grandma seems over the moon that she’s a part of the family.
There’s a secret room in the already big room Gun and Mi Young are sharing. It’s Gun’s secret room – an entertainment room of sorts he uses to house and watch videotapes of him and Se Ra.
Get Kim Mi Young’s Dress:
Reneevon Dress, 332,100 Won
Mi Young watches the tape. It’s Gun filming Se Ra and both of them being sweet around each other. Gun walks in on her watching the film. He doesn’t disguise his antagonism and quickly showed her the documents he asked her to pick up. He told her he only married her because of the child and as soon as the baby’s out, he’ll want a divorce.
Mi Young looking deflated even in a perky yellow house dress.
Get Kim Mi Young’s Dress:
Jill by Jill Stuart Yellow Dress, 225,540 Won
Gun was so mad about the island people that he sold it to an investor just to get back at them.
Lee Gun’s suit styling is always so interesting, no?
His work day is interrupted when he got a call from the hospital. His grandma was rushed to the hospital. When he got there, grandma’s conscious and the doctor warned him about not causing more stress to her. Lee Gun knows it’s a ploy to get him to do whatever she wants him to do. Grandma wanted Gun to take Mi Young to prenatal class.
The prenatal session was awkward, to say the least. There’s a lot of skinship, which, obviously, the two isn’t keen on doing to each other yet. Gun did what was instructed though, albeit reluctantly.
Kim Mi Young’s blouse is from Michaa, her skirt is from Time, the bag she used is from Lovcat and her shoes are from Shoespa.
After the session, he lets Mi Young eat on her own. Mi Young doesn’t mind as she thinks she’s putting too much burden on Lee Gun. She meets Father Daniel, again, and the latter asked for her help in putting up his café’s signage.
Daniel took her home and was surprised to find where she lives – the same house the grandma he knows lives. Soon after, Lee Gun’s vehicle emerged.
